New Parks and Rec classes

I’m happy to announce 2 new classes this winter for Brookfield Parks and Rec.  Both of the classes are being held in the Center Elementary School gym at 8 Obtuse hill Rd (Rt 133) in Brookfield.

I like this venue for several reasons.  First of all I feel safe.  Its well lit and the gym faces the parking lot and it has an entrance accessible directly from the parking lot, no need to enter the school.  Once inside the outside wall faces the parking lot and is covered in windows that open to let in fresh air.  The ceilings are 20+ feet tall and there is plenty of room for social distancing.  In warmer weather the outside doors and windows are kept open for ventilation.

Tai Chi Quan class starts next Friday, 1/21 at 6:30pm and runs for 6 weeks.  This class will introduce basic stretching and focus on Tai Chi theory and the first chapter of the Tai Chi long form.  Suitable for beginners.

Tai Chi Qi Gong class starts Friday, 3/11 at 6:30pm and runs for 4 weeks.  This class will focus on Qi Gong and the art of moving energy around your body.  Students will be introduced to standing meditation and various Qi Gong exercises and Tai Chi movements.
