Three New Spring Classes @ Parks & Rec

Lian Gong Series 1 and Series 2 –  Two 4-week courses back to back will present all 18 exercises in Series 1 and in Series 2, 36 exercises in all.  You don’t have to register for both classes.  Details below

Tai Chi Quan for Beginners II – This 8-week course will introduce the Tai Chi 30 forms short set.  Forms 1-10 will be reviewed in every class with more focus on learning forms 11-20. Details below

Lian Gong

Do you suffer from chronic pain or discomfort?  Tired constantly taking pain meds or going to PT for some temporary relief?

Liangong is an exercise system that combines orthopedic science and sports medicine.  It’s a varied system of 54 exercises.  Series 1 introduces the first 18 exercises that emphasize correct posture and movement to address pain or discomfort in the neck, shoulders, back, hips, legs, ankles and feet.  Series 2 introduces the next 18 exercises that goes deeper to address issues in the connective tissue and strengthen the functionality of the internal organs.  It addresses pains in the joints and limbs, tendon inflammation, tennis elbow, and dysfunction of the internal organs (high blood pressure, coronary heart disease, gastrointestinal disorders, neurosis and emotional distress).

1. Liangong Series 1: Stress, Strains & Sprains

2. Liangong Series 2: Joints & Internal Organs

Tai Chi Quan for Beginners II

Tai Chi Quan – is a fist system (Chinese boxing) that blends softness with energetic movement in accordance with the theory of yin and yang energies. It is suitable for everyone regardless of age, gender, and even physical condition. The major benefits being overall fitness and health and ultimately increasing longevity. In older practitioners it is said to return the vigor of youth.

This class will focus on balance, leg strength and core strength.  The Tai Chi Quan 30 form set will be introduced, with focus on forms 11 through 20.  Suitable for everyone.
